Spirit Week starts next Monday

By Jared Murray

This semester’s Spirit Week starts next week on Monday. The ideas for this Spirit Week were decided by Student Council. Spirit Week leads up to the winter pep rally, where winter sports are showcased and the Riley Children’s Hospital Dance Marathon is promoted to the student body.  Next week’s themes are:

Monday– Camo Day- Dress up in camouflage so you can blend in during your classes and avoid homework.

Tuesday– Teacher Twin Day- Emulate your favorite teacher by dressing just like them.

Wednesday– Green and Gold Day- Show your school spirit by dressing up with our school colors.

Thursday– Decade Day- Dress like you’re from a different decade where school wasn’t nearly as hard.

Friday– Superhero Day- Dress up as your favorite superhero and save the day with your school spirit.

Make sure you check out The Bagpiper Online for coverage of next week’s Spirit Week.

Dancers raise funds for hospital

For four hours today FC students participated in its first ever dance marathon, a charity event for Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis. The afternoon was filled with live performances from local bands including Big Acorns Make Fat Squirrels and Identity Crisis, games, crafts, stories from different Riley families, and dancing.

A total of $17,572.44 was raised, more than doubling the original goal of $7,000.
