Where to eat on prom night

By Marah Harbison

1. Wild Ginger on Bardstown Road- Sushi is always a good choice because it is light, delicious, and not too messy. Wild Ginger also offers some of the most unique rolls in Louisville. I suggest the .007 roll which features a citrusy lime taste.

2. Varanese on Frankfurt Avenue- This restaurant’s “new American” cuisine is a nice stray from the norm of Italian food for prom night. Also it’s semi-outdoor seating gives this restaurant a great atmosphere.

3. Stay Home- If parents are gracious enough, cooking a meal at a group members house and eating there can be a great option. You can avoid reservations, crowds, and extra transportation and also decide exactly what will be on the menu.

Students dance the night away

By Kara Beard and Grace Runkel

Last night, 664 upperclassmen gathered at the Marriott in downtown Louisville for a night to remember.

Upon entering Prom students were met with bright lights, loud music, and a massive dance floor, which did not stay empty for long. On the tables it was evident to students the theme was Oriental because they were left Chinese take-out boxes, topped with neon sunglasses.

At After-Prom, the school was transformed into the world of Pandora, from James Cameron’s “Avator.” Regular flourescent lighting was exchanged with black-out lights that made the neon-decor glow.

Students had many activities to choose from including hamster-ball-racing, gas card bingo, corn hole, ping pong, dodgeball, karoke, video games, and contests. Prom-goers could also relax at a cafe featuring live music, watch “Avatar,” or even laugh the night away at a comedy club.
